Odisha Integrated Irrigation Project for Climate Resilient Agriculture (OIIPCRA)::

IRDMS is implementing OIIPCRA in Mayurbhanj district to promote climate-resilient agricultural practices. This initiative, supported by the World Bank and the Department of Water Resources, focuses on solar-powered irrigation systems, farm mechanization, integrated crop and water management, and strengthening Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs). The project aims to enhance agricultural productivity, improve water-use efficiency, and build climate resilience among farming communities.

Skill Development Training

IRDMS conducts specialized skill development training in Mayurbhanj targeting rural youth and workforce. Training modules include: • Vegetable Grower Training • Greenhouse Operator Training These initiatives are funded by the Nutana Unnata Abhilasha (NUA) under the Odisha Skill Development Authority (OSDA), and they aim to build market-relevant skills for self-employment and wage employment, thereby fostering livelihood diversification and economic resilience. .

Special Programme for Millets for Tribal Population

Funded by the Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment, Government of Odisha, this programme targets millet promotion among tribal communities in Mayurbhanj. It aims to increase millet cultivation through improved varieties, sustainable agronomic practices, and value addition, thereby enhancing nutrition security and livelihood options for tribal farmers.

Special Programme for Integrated Farming System

Supported by the Directorate of Horticulture, Government of Odisha, this programme promotes integrated farming systems combining crops, horticulture, livestock, and fisheries to optimize resource use and diversify income sources. The approach encourages sustainable and resilient agricultural models tailored to local agro-ecological conditions.

Targeted Rice Fallow Area (TRFA) Programme

Funded by the Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment, the TRFA programme focuses on utilizing rice fallow lands for secondary crops through improved management practices, including moisture conservation, diversified cropping, and integrated nutrient and pest management. This initiative enhances cropping intensity, food security, and farmers’ income in the district.
